Crash involves 2 pickup trucks; 1 driver has serious injuries

UNION TWP. — A two-vehicle crash with serious injuries Tuesday evening is being investigated by the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at about 6:19 p.m. on SR 73 near Antioch Road and involved a 2004 GMC Sonoma pickup truck and a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

According to the OSHP, the GMC Sonoma, driven by Kaleb Harper, 18, of Greenfield, was traveling southbound on SR 73 when Harper fell asleep and went left of center, striking the Dodge Ram driven by Jacob Moore, 24, with passenger Brianna Wendt, 22, both of New Vienna.

Harper was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries, according to the OSHP. They said that Moore was uninjured and Wendt had minor injuries.
