Jones sisters champions at Ohio State Fair

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Fair Sale of Champions livestock auction held in the WCOL Celeste Center, showcased Ohio’s premium livestock, premier junior fair exhibitors and generous supporters.

Among the winners was Clinton Countian Myah Jones, 16, for Grand Champion Market Turkey.

It was purchased for $14,500 by Kale Marketing, Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, Cooper Farms, and RD Jones Excavating.

Myah, a student at East Clinton High School, is also the 2018 Clinton County Fair Poultry Queen.

Her sister Jozie Jones, 13, showed the Reserve Champion Market Turkey at the Ohio State Fair. Jozie is a student at East Clinton Middle School.

On the sale bill were grand champion and reserve champion of many species, including market beef, market barrows, market lambs and market chickens, as well as the grand champion market goat, market turkey and a block of Swiss cheese to represent the seven dairy champions.

In full, the livestock was auctioned for a total of $255,000.
