CMH welcomes cardiologist Dr. Hodgson

WILMINGTON — CMH Regional Health System has brought on interventional cardiologist Dr. John Hodgson as part of its Interventional Cardiology program, launched last fall.

Dr. Hodgson comes to CMH with over three decades of experience in cardiac interventions, serving most recently as the Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

CMH CEO Lance Beus expressed his confidence in Dr. Hodgson joining CMH:

“Dr. Hodgson is an exceptional physician, and his breadth of experience and proven leadership skills are a huge asset to CMH,” said Beus. “We’re excited to welcome him to our team and know that he will be a strong advocate for our patients as we continue to build our program here.”

Dr. Hodgson received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a fellowship in invasive cardiology research at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island.

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the American Heart Association Council on Circulation, and the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.

CMH Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Hollon, echoed Beus’s confidence. “Dr. Hodgson’s medical training, years of experience, and numerous leadership roles will make him an excellent leader for our program here at CMH,” he said. “I look forward to welcoming him to our medical staff and working alongside him as we grow and expand services to southwest Ohio.”

Dr. Hodgson will serve as Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology. He is now accepting new patients in CMH’s interventional cardiology clinic – Cardiology Associates of Southwest Ohio. To schedule an appointment, call 937-283-9888.
