Blanchester FFA hosts 32 PALS

0

Blanchester FFA held their first successful PALS on Wednesday, Sept. 12 and run by one of our own vice presidents, Caili Baumann.

PALS is an initiative from the national FFA organization which stands for Partners in Active Learning Support. Locally, this event is where our members bring over fourth-grade students to teach them about an agriculture topic and then have some type of relating activity, held usually on the second Wednesday of every month.

For this month we kicked off by learning a little bit about the dairy industry and what it takes to make ice cream — and what better way to conclude than to help our 32 visitors make their own ice cream in a bag.

This activity was a fun way for all to participate by mixing ingredients in individual bags and then placing them into a bag filled with salt and ice to mix with a partner until the final result … ice cream!

Stay tuned to see what we do next month!
