Municipal court reports: Man gets 540 days jail, $3K fine for assault

WILMINGTON — The following report is compiled using a disposition report provided by Clinton County Municipal Court. The information includes the defendant’s name, age, residence if listed, charge(s) disposed, fine, court costs assessed, jail sentence and any special conditions. Municipal Judge Mike Daugherty oversees the court, which administers the law in criminal misdemeanor cases.

The following continued the list of those who pled guilty or were found guilty between Sept. 17 and Sept. 21:

• Derek Ritchie, 26, of Wilmington, three counts of assault, sentenced to 540 days in jail, fined $3,000, assessed $375 court costs. Ritchie must have no contact with the victims. A restitution hearing is set for Nov. 2.

Ritchie was charged after an April incident in which he assaulted three men in Blanchester.

Blanchester police stated in April that witnesses said a man, 53, was selling his car, and Ritchie came to test drive it but found it unacceptable.

Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt said an argument ensued between the men, with Ritchie striking the victim as they sat in the car. At that point, two of the victim’s friends came to his aid and “tried to pull Ritchie off (the victim) and were assaulted in the process.”

Reinbolt stated in April that Ritchie “has an extensive criminal record.”

• Joseph Dawson, 30, of Wilmington, aggravated menacing, obstructing official business, domestic violence, sentenced to 300 days in jail, fined $1,750, assessed $375 court costs. Additional charges of assault, criminal damages, and resisting arrest were dismissed.

• Arnold Davis Jr., 54, of Wilmington, O.V.I., sentenced to 180 days in jail (suspended), operator’s license suspended from Sept. 20, 2018 to Sept. 19, 2019, fined $1,075, assessed $125 court costs. Davis must complete two years of non-reporting probation. Operator’s license ordered destroyed. ALS vacated. Driving privileges granted effected Sept. 30. A second O.V.I. charge along with a no tail lights and left of center violations were dismissed.

• Danny Wilson, 39, of Sabina, two counts of trespassing, receiving stolen property, sentenced to 90 days in jail (54 days suspended), fined $750, assessed $375 court costs. A second trespassing charge was dismissed. Wilson must have no contact with the victims.

• Jefferson Green Jr., 45, of Wilmington, physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, sentenced to 60 days in jail (suspended), fined $500, assessed $125 court costs. The charge was amended from an O.V.I. charge. Green must complete a three-day non-residential driver intervention program and two years of non-reporting probation. If compliant, the court will suspend $250 of fine. ALS vacated. Additional charges of drug possession and going 69 in a 55 mph speed zone were dismissed.

• Justin Litteral, 28, of Wilmington, reckless operation, sentenced to 60 days in jail (suspended), fined $500, assessed $125 court costs. The charge was amended from an O.V.I. charge. Litteral must complete a three-day non-residential driver intervention program and two years of non-reporting probation. If compliant, the court will suspend $250 of fine. ALS vacated. A failure to control charge was dismissed.

• David Hammann, 47, of Wilmington, physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, fined $500, assessed $125 court costs. Hammann must complete two years of non-reporting probation. ALS vacated.

• Jerrod Griffith, 32, resisting arrest, sentenced to 30 days in jail (20 days in jail), fined $500, assessed $125 court costs.

• Sheena Hahn, 35, of Wilmington, two counts of theft, sentenced to 20 days in jail, fined $200, assessed $250 court costs. Jailtime stayed to allow Hahn to write apology letters, complete diversion and report to probation on time. Two additional theft charges were dismissed.

• Darleen Ellis Klaue, 40, of Wilmington, criminal damages, sentenced to ten days in jail (suspended), fined $250, assessed $125 court costs. Ellis Klaue must commit no further offenses for two years and complete non-reporting probation.

• Aaron Cody Jr., 32, of Wilmington, trespassing, sentenced to 10 days in jail (suspended), fined $125, assessed $125 court costs. Cody must have no contact with the victim, must commit no further offenses for two years and complete non-reporting probation.

• Jason Brunk, 26, of Wilmington, complicity, driving under suspension-financial, sentenced to 10 days in jail (suspended), fined $500, assessed $250 court costs. Brunk must complete community service, write a letter of apology to the victim, have no contact with them, and shall not reside in Clinton County for the rest of the year.

• Stephen Doan, 31, drug instrument possession, trespassing, fined $500, assessed $250 court costs.

• Taelor London, 21, of Latonia, marijuana possession, fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Shawnda Wilson, 37, of Martinsville, wrongful entrustment of motor vehicle, fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. A domestic violence charge was dismissed.

• Shawn Wells, 45, of Hillsboro, intimidating a witness, fined $500, assessed $125 court costs. Wells must commit no further offenses for two years, complete non-reporting probation, complete present course of treatment of PTSD, and must not reside in Clinton County for two years.

• Barri Tapp, 35, of Hillsboro, marijuana possession, driving under suspension, fined $400, assessed $250 court costs. A following close violation was dismissed.

• Jason Simon, 30, of Clarksville, aggravated menacing, fined $50, assessed $125 court costs.

• Ghazi Khan, 27, of Waterbury, going 98 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $105, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Mayk Bartolon, 22, of Fairfield, going 99 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $95, assessed $125 court costs.
