The Wilmington College women’s basketball team and head coach Jerry Scheve spoke to Wilmington Kiwanis last Thursday about their upcoming 2018-2019 basketball season and their recent summer trip to Costa Rica. This is the fifth year that the team has started Kiwanis’ new year (October 2018-September 2019) as program speakers. This Saturday, Oct. 27, Kiwanis will hold its annual Pancake Breakfast at the Wilmington Presbyterian Church, 840 Timber Glen Road, from 8 a.m.-noon. Cost is $5 per person. Funds raised from the breakfast help with Wilmington Kiwanis’ various community service projects such as Key Clubs, 4-H, Boy Scouts, and the BUGS program.
