WILMINGTON — Construction has begun on Holiday Drive for a 7,558 square-foot Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis clinic.
The facility will include a new 13-chair outpatient dialysis clinic, a three-chair home therapy dialysis training space, a doctor’s examination room, a waiting room, a reception area, offices, a conference room, support spaces for the outpatient clinic and home therapy, and a staff lounge.
The Fresenius Kidney Care clinic is targeted to open in April 2019.
The construction cost for the one-story facility, according to paperwork at the Wilmington Building & Zoning Department, is projected at $2.35 million.
Fresenius Kidney Care already has a site in Wilmington located on the 600 block of West Main Street that offers home dialysis only. The new, larger clinic that will be opening will offer both in-center and home modalities, said a spokesperson.
The size of the new clinic will allow Fresenius Kidney Care to service the entire Wilmington community, the spokesperson added.
The clinic that’s currently open will relocate to the new, larger space.
The new clinic will have 35 parking spaces in a wrap-around parking lot.
Near Rombach Avenue, the site on Holiday Drive is across the street from the Holiday Inn Express.
The architect for the new facility is Buehrer Group Architecture & Engineering Inc. out of Maumee, Ohio.
