BLANCHESTER — A local man was arrested on outstanding warrants Thursday night after a foot chase, according to Blanchester police.

At around 11:30 p.m. Thursday Ptl. Ian Courtney was on patrol when he observed several individuals standing outside at 126 S. Broadway St.

“He recognized one of the individuals as Shawn ‘Cadillac’ Fox, and knew that the department held an arrest warrant for Fox for theft,” said Police Chief Scott Reinbolt. “As Courtney got out of his cruiser, Fox fled on foot. A foot chase ensued north and into the alleys downtown, with Sgt. Gary Mowen joining the effort.

“Sgt. Mowen found Fox hiding under a car in the alley behind the China Dragon restaurant. He was placed under arrest.”

Reinbolt said that a check on Fox through dispatch revealed that he was also wanted by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office on a felony warrant for possession of drugs.

Fox, 30, was processed at the Blanchester police station and transported to the Clinton County Jail; he provided his address as “homeless,” said Reinbolt.

He added that a new charge of resisting arrest was filed against Fox for fleeing the officers.
