WILMINGTON – CMH Regional Health System is teaming up with Community Blood Center to host its monthly community blood drive for whole blood, platelet and plasma donors Wednesday, Nov. 14 from noon to 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs conference room next to the cafeteria, 610 West Main St., Wilmington.

The CMH Regional Health monthly blood drive includes apheresis machines for platelet and plasma donations. Platelets are blood cells that help control bleeding. Plasma is the fluid component that helps maintain blood pressure. Both are vital to the treatment of cancer, organ transplant, burn, and trauma patients.
