BLANCHESTER — The 11th annual Blanchester Community Christmas Dinner will be held Saturday, Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Blanchester Community Center in the village’s municipal building.

The meal will be catered by McCoy’s Catering, and all citizens of Blanchester are invited to join free of charge.

According to a prepared statement by event organizers, the first 10 Community Christmas Dinners were successful. Each year numbers grew, and last year, approximately 250 meals were served and another 150 were delivered, thanks to support from the Blanchester community.

The statement called last year’s financial support “overwhelming” and the current year’s equally generous. It also thanked volunteers and supporters for their help.

Those interested in volunteering to serve food, clean, bake desserts or deliver meals or those interested in donating to the cause, should contact Jim or Ruth Johnson at 937-783-2503.

Those interested in having a meal delivered should also contact Jim or Ruth.

“We guarantee you will come away filled with the Christmas Spirit, knowing you have helped others have a more enjoyable Christmas,” said the statement.
