YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say the Youngstown State University campus is on lockdown after someone reported seeing a person with a gun.
Youngstown police say there is no active shooter on campus and that the lockdown put in place just before noon on Monday is a precaution.
A campus police spokesman tells The Vindicator newspaper they can’t confirm whether there was a gun. A hospital and library near the campus were also on lockdown.
Authorities say the person with a gun was reportedly near a student recreation center.
The university says in a tweet that authorities are looking for a black male with dreadlocks who was in a red hoodie and had a black backpack.
