National Convention is a time-honored tradition in the FFA, and Wilmington FFA recently finished spending half a week at National Convention in Indianapolis.
We had a busy time while there, learning about ag tourism at Beasley’s Orchard in Danville and listening to inspiring retiring addresses from their national officers. We also had a night on the town when they went to the Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo.
On the last day, the chapter celebrated with Matthew Younker on receiving the highest honor in FFA — the American Degree.
Matt is a sophomore at Wilmington College, where he is studying Agricultural Education.
His time in Wilmington FFA was well spent with pursuing his multiple SAE, Parliamentary Procedure CDE team, and being chapter president in the 2016-2017 school year.
Watching a fellow member receive his American degree was the highlight of our trip.
Everyone excited to be home, but the chapter will never forget the amazing experiences from this past trip.
