WILMINGTON — A story circulating around town and on social media about a Sunday morning robbery-at-knifepoint on the westside bike path has been discredited as false, Wilmington police said Wednesday afternoon.

Wilmington Police Detective Bob Wilson told the News Journal on Wednesday the alleged victim “confessed he made it up.”
