Blanchester FFA creating leaders

BLANCHESTER — FFA was very excited as it hosted its first chapter leadership night Tuesday night.

To bring a new perspective to a typical leadership night, the chapter members had sophomores and lower-grade students in the auditeria with some Ohio FFA state officers, Kalyn Strahley and Tyler Zimpfer.

Junior and Senior members went to the library to have a session with Dow Tippett. Dow was someone the Blanchester FFA officer team had a chance to meet over the summer while at officer retreat to bond as a new team.

While at the camp, Dow taught the chapter officers about seven daily choices and how we can relate them to our lives, to not only create healthy relationships within our FFA chapter, but as a reflection on individual lives too. The officers really took his message to heart and were excited about sharing the opportunity with other chapters to strengthen some of their leaders.

At the conclusion of the leadership portion of the evening both groups joined back in the auditeria for pizza and basketball to reflect on the evening’s lesson.
