The overall theme for World Community Day 2018 is “Reaching Toward Wholeness.”

The County Chapter of Church Women United will be celebrating World Community Day on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Sabina at the COVE, 185 S. College St.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the program starts at 9:30 a.m. All women in and around Clinton County are encouraged to attend.

The idea of wholeness requires feeling safe, cared for, valued and connected within our local community and the larger world. Music and rhythm have been used since primitive times to communicate around times of birth, death, war, and peace.

The theme of this, the third and last meeting of 2018, is Reaching for Wholeness in Harmony with God’s People.

In 1943, as our concern for peace grew, the first World Community Day was celebrated on November 11th. Church Women United were asked to prepare the materials for the celebration. Our passion for prayer, peace, justice and reconciliation as part of the global community continues.

In today’s digital age, we are brought closer to our next-door and faraway neighbors. We gain a new appreciation for the diversity in faith tradition, gender, origin (Nationality), age, political stance, evangelical, liberal, conservative, and the labels continue.

With music as the universal language, this World Community Day Celebration emphasizes harmonious relationships as we seek to discover God’s will for our ever-changing world community. Romans 12:18 (NIV), “If it is possible, as far as it depends of you, live at peace with everyone”, is the basis for our program.
