Election letters deadline Wednesday, 3 p.m.

The deadline for the News Journal to receive election-related letters is 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, and the last day they will be published is Oct. 31.

Letters to the Editor regarding issues or candidates in the Nov. 3 general election must be 200 words or less and are subject to editing by the News Journal. Letters must maintain a degree of civility and good taste, and any that are potentially libelous will not be published.

Election-related letters are limited to one per household; effective Aug. 18, letters from candidates or their families will not be published leading up to the election. Due to space restrictions, we will try, but cannot guarantee, that all letters will be published in the print version of the News Journal.

Letters should be emailed to [email protected] and include the writer’s name, community of residence, and a daytime phone number to verify authorship (and to answer any questions we may have).
