Joint rec levy good for all of county

0

Count us as among those that will be voting for the Clinton County Joint Recreation District Levy that will improve parks and recreation throughout the county.

If passed, the levy will result in the construction of a multi-generational health and wellness center in Wilmington and will create an income stream for current parks and rec facilities as well as potential new projects in Clinton County villages and crossroads where we have family, friends and roots.

Recent community meetings have indicated that there is support from major employers, realtors, business people and other community leaders who understand that projects which promote health and wellness are key to economic growth.

Since the closing of the Clinton County Family YMCA, county residents have been able to choose from several, fine local fitness facilities. But for access to indoor pools and some programming for seniors and youth, Clinton Countians must travel 20+ miles to the like-sized county seats of Hillsboro, Washington Court House, Xenia and Lebanon.

To make an informed decision, we urge you to check out the web site (www.voteforjointdistrict.com) or Facebook page (voteforjointrecdistrict.com).

This is an important opportunity for positive improvements in our county and we need to make it a reality.
