There are several good candidates standing for Clinton County Commissioner in the upcoming March primary election. In my opinion, one candidate stands above the others.

In my 25 years of involvement with local politics, no one has been more helpful and knowledgeable than Brenda Woods. As the clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, she answered all questions and quickly replied to all requests for public information and records. That had not always been the case in that office.

As assistant county administrator, she helped to shape development plans and conduct day-to-day county business.

Brenda’s last position was as the executive assistant to the Mayor of Wilmington. The Mayor is a part-time position and this placed her in charge of day-to-day city operations.

I can’t imagine a more qualified person to become a Commissioner ready to go on day one without training wheels.
