LEES CREEK — A win was “icing on the cake” for East Clinton volleyball coach Sarah Sodini.

Tuesday night was all about Debbie Wiget and EC’s annual Block Out Cancer match in her honor.

“The event was awesome thanks to freshman coach Angie Collom, several parent volunteers, our cheerleaders, our student section and the East Clinton Athletic Boosters,” Sodini said. “We were able to raise some money for Debbie and celebrate her and her family. We also honored other cancer survivors and those we’ve lost.”

The match against Felicity was won by East Clinton 25-6, 25-13, 25-4.

The Astros are 10-0 in league play and have earned at least a share of the SBAAC National Division crown. EC is 14-1 overall.

Felicity falls to 2-9 overall, 2-8 in the league.

Kami Whiteaker had two kills and an assist. Megan Tong finished with a kill, 10 aces and 14 assists. Savannah Tolle followed with three digs while Lauren Runyon had five kills and two aces.

Mckenzie Pence contributed three kills and three digs. Anna Malone chipped in with a block at the net. Kelsi Lilly had seven kills, an ace, an assist and a dig. Lydia Kessler had two aces.

Jozie Jones had two blocks and two aces. Libby Evanshine had nine kills, seven aces, 11 assists and six digs. Jordan Collom had four digs. Eryn Bowman totaled a kill and an assist. Trinity Bain had a kill and four digs.
