BLANCHESTER — Ending an eight-match winless streak, the Blanchester girls soccer team defeated Fayetteville 2-0 Monday night in non-league play at Barbour Memorial Field.

Blanchester is 4-10-1 on the season but had not posted a win since a 3-1 decision over Ripley on Sept. 11.

Kyra Renick opened the scoring with an assist to Macey Waldron. A few minutes later, Morgan Coyle knocked down a goal kick and slid a pass to Rylan Coyle who found the back of the net on a long shot, coach Kristina White said.

Tori Potts had seven saves in goal for her third shutout of the season. Blanchester has allowed just one goal in its last three matches, going 1-1-1 in the process.
