MONROE — The Blanchester wrestling team opened its season Saturday with a split of two matches with Northwest and Monroe.

The Wildcats were 51-18 winners over the Knights but lost to the Hornets 52-30.

Two-match winners for BHS were Nick Musselman at 144 pounds, Dylan Short at 150 pounds, Carson Curless at 165 and Zane Panetta at 175 pounds.

Single match winners were Hunter Smith at 120, Caleb Sears at 126, Kaleb Tabor at 132, Zach Musselman at 138, Michael Mulvihill at 190, and Cody Kidd at 215 pounds.

Blanchester forfeited at 106, 113 and 157 pounds.
