WHS bowlers win 2 over Batavia at Royal Z Lanes

WILMINGTON — Rallying in the four baker games, Wilmington defeated Batavia in boys bowling action Wednesday at Royal Z Lanes.

On the girls side, Wilmington remained unbeaten in SBAAC American Division play with a 2274 to 2134 win over the Lady Bulldogs at RZL. Batavia had two of the top individual series in the match but Wilmington’s depth was too much.

Kylie Fisher led WHS with a 378 series while Tori Piatt had a 203 single game and a 344 series. Lexus Reiley had a 315 series and Kala Hatfield came in with 316. Haylee Wright had a single game 114 and sub Reagan Reece bowled a 112.

For the boys, Lucas Neff was the team game pacesetter with games of 224 and 214 for a 438 series.

But Wilmington trailed 1864 to 1840 after the two team games. The Bulldogs increased the lead to 53 pins after the first two baker games. The Hurricane had a 231 baker game to make it anybody’s match going in to the baker finale and won that 206 to 152 to earn the overall match win.

Jayden Tackett had a 354 series with Isaac Pletcher bowling 366 and Hunter Gallion 375. Landon Mellinger had a single game of 161.
