WHS boys second at Ironclad baker event


HILLSBORO — The Wilmington High School boys bowling team finished second Saturday in the Ironclad Baker Tournament at Highland Lanes.

Wilmington was second going in to match play competition and defeated Clinton-Massie in the semifinal round.

The Hurricane then lost to Hillsboro in the championship match.

Wilmington had eight baker games totaling 1,587 during the qualifying round. WHS had games of 221, 224 and 227 among the first eight games.

Against Hillsboro, Wilmington had games of 167 and 187.
