WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Rodger O. Borror eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Blanchester 27-21 Thursday night.
Thanks to E. Hartmann’s three-pointer at the buzzer, Blanchester led 14-11 at halftime. The young Ladycats then scored just seven points in the second half. The downfall was shooting 2 for 11 at the free throw line in the third and fourth quarters.
Wilmington took control of the game by outscoring Blanchester 12-3 in the third and, as coach Judah Jamiel said, “never looked back.”
E Hartmann led Blancheser with eight points, seven of those in the first half. H. Harris added four while J. Lansing scored three.
A. Trovillo and T. Tedrick had two points each while K. Tipton and B. Bare had 1 point each.
Lauren Diels and Bryne Conley had 10 points each for Wilmington. Lilly Trentmon added five while Adrianna Eltzroth scored two points.
