MADEIRA — Blanchester was third and East Clinton 11th Saturday at the Bob Kearns Invitational wrestling tournament.

The Wildcats had two champions, Zane Panetta and Cody Kidd.

“I was very pleased with our performance,” BHS head coach Ryan Shafer said. “We placed seven out of nine wrestlers. We need to continue to ride this momentum into our tri Wednesday and Sycamore tournament next Saturday. Point Pleasant won the tournament with Reading second.

Panetta won the 175-pound championship, pinning Gus Kyser of Madeira in 4:41 in the final match.

Kidd claimed the 215 title with a 60-second pin of Dirk Konrad of Reading in the championship match.
