WESTERVILLE — Wilmington College men’s track and field senior Joe Shuga is this week’s Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week. This is the senior’s first time receiving the honor.

Shuga has startedthe season full speed and has improved better as the season has progressed. At the Steemer Showcase, Shuga’s power was on full display with a second place finish in weight throw with a personal best distance of 58-11.5. The WC record is 61-4.25.

The fifth-year senior followed that performance with a seventh-place finish in shot put with a heave of 45-10.

The Indoor All-Ohio meet is Feb. 12 in Westerville.
