BATAVIA — After a slow start, the Wilmington High School girls basketball team pulled away from Batavia Monday for a 55-42 win.
The SBAAC American Division victory puts WHS at 11-7 overall and 7-3 in the division. Batavia is 7-13, 3-7.
Though Western Brown has won the American crown, Wilmington has secured at least a share of second place. Goshen must win its final two league games to forge a runnerup tie.
Wilmington trailed 13-12 after one quarter but led 26-23 at halftime. In the third, the Lady Hurricane made their move, extending the difference to 45-34.
