Western Brown edges Wilmington baseball 5-4

WILMINGTON — Despite a late rally, Wilmington was defeated by Western Brown Monday 5-4 in SBAAC American Division baseball at the WHS diamond.

The loss puts Wilmington at 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the American.

Wilmington has lost back to back games by 5-4 final scores. Miami Trace defeated WHS by same score.

Western Brown moves to 1-1 in league play and 2-3 overall.

Wilmington trailed 3-0 and 5-1 before scoring a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to get within one.

Landon Flint had three hits and three runs batted in for the Hurricane. Alex Massie and Jayden Tackett finished with two hits each.

Wilmington struck out 13 times and reached base via walk five times.
