TIFFIN, Ohio — Nathan Borgan won his first athlete of the week honors for Wilmington College.

The men’s track and field thrower earned the honor in the latest announcement by the Ohio Athletic Conference.

A freshman from Lancaster, Borgan opened the outdoor track and field season with a fifth place hammer throw of 169-5 which was the top throw of a DIII athlete at the Tiffleberg Invitational. This current mark puts him at the top of the OAC in hammer throw and 13th in the nation for DIII.

“It was a cold meet and my body did not want to warm up but I pushed through and had a big start to the season,” said Borgan. “I fouled a few bigger throws so I am looking forward to push the mark especially when it is warmer.”

The Quakers head to Ohio Wesleyan this weekend to continue the outdoor season.
