Quakers split OAC doubleheader with Otterbein

WESTERVILLE — The Wilmington College baseball team split an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader Wednesday with Otterbein, winning game one 9-5 and falling in game two 6-5.

Aaron Boster won his fourth game of the year, allowing three earned runs and eight hits in 5.1 innings. Kaleb Stines went the final 3.2 innings for the save.

Wilmington pounded out 17 hits with Caleb Scott and Zach Christensen collecting three each. Christensen also scored three times. Tyler Shaneyfelt had two hits and drove in three runs. Dominic Depa and Noah Martin had two hits each. Aaron Burns homered and Jacob Kalt had a run-scoring single.

In the nightcap, Shaneyfelt, Jared Lammert and Martin tallied multi-hit games for Wilmington. Evan Kelsey had a two-run single. Lammert drove in single runs in the fourth and sixth innings for WC.

Luke Chappie took the loss for WC, going eight innings with four strikeouts.

The Quakers (13-16, 2-8 OAC) continue OAC play with a pair of contests against Capital University Friday. First pitch from Tewksbury-Delaney Field is slated for 1 p.m.
