Former WC director of Athletic Performance hired by NFL’s Vikings

EAGAN, Minn. – Dan Ridenour, former Wilmington College Director of Athletic Performance, has been hired by the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League as the franchise’s sports science coordinator and assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Ridenour joins the Vikings after serving as the assistant director of the Nebraska Athletic Performance Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Ridenour will assist all strength and conditioning efforts as well as lead the Vikings sports science programs.

Ridenour was Wilmington’s first director of athletic performance for the 2019-20 academic year. He oversaw the training of WC’s varsity athletic programs and worked with the internship program. Prior to Wilmington, Dan worked for WC alumnus Chris Arington at Ignition APG for three years.

A graduate of Luther College, Ridenour went on to get a master’s degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He has worked at St. John’s University (Minnesota), the University of Memphis and the University of Minnesota.
