Massie duo honored by district coaches organization


The all-district softball teams, as voted on by the coaches of the Southwest District Softball Coaches Association

A pair of Clinton-Massie softball players were honored by the Southwest District Softball Coaches Association.

Senior Kayla Drake was named to the first team All-Division II squad while Sydney Doyle was given honorable mention.

Drake, a third baseman, his .646 (51-for-79) for the Falcons this season with 12 doubles and 11 homeruns. She struck out just four times in 79 official at-bats. Drake scored 42 runs.

Doyle, a freshman outfielder, hit .539 (41-for-76) for Clinton-Massie with 11 doubles, a triple and eight homeruns. She scored 33 runs and knocked in 37 teammates. She also stole 14 bases.

The SWDSCA teams are voted on by coaches who are members of the organization.
