East Clinton picks up road win at Clermont NE

OWENSVILLE — In a tough environment, East Clinton outlasted Clermont Northeastern 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 Tuesday in SBAAC National Division volleyball

”We’ve been talking about the mental game we’d have to play going to CNE,” East Clinton coach Sarah Sodini said. “The girls had the skills and had put in the volleyball work to get it done, but they had to get their minds right.

“They did it. I’m so proud of them all. Everyone was positive, including the bench. You’ve got to have a lot of good energy to win at CNE and the girls brought it.”

East Clinton goes to 5-1 on the year, 1-0 in National Division play. CNE is 3-3 overall, 2-1 in the National.

Megan Tong had an ace, three kills, 13 assists and four digs. Savannah Tolle finished with a kill and 13 digs. Lauren Stonewall contributed four kills and a block. Eryn Bowman had two kills, a block, an assist and a dig.

Libby Evanshine had two aces, 22 kills and eight digs. Kami Whiteaker had an ace, seven kills, a block and 14 digs. Jordan Collom totaled an ace, a kill, 22 assists and six digs. Lauren Runyon had three aces, seven kills, two blocks and four digs.
