FRANKLIN — For the first time since 2001, Clinton-Massie has lost three straight games in the same season.

Fenwick held Massie to just 123 total yards in a 17-7 win Friday night.

The Clinton-Massie offense lost a fumble and threw an interception. It was just 4 of 12 on third downs and 1 of 4 on fourth downs.

Logan Chesser ran 20 times for 48 yards and a touchdown.

The defense wasn’t bad, holding Fenwick to 272 total yards.

Gavan Hunter had seven solo and five assisted tackles on the night. Leyton Bell had five solos while Miles Theetge, Brady Russell and Tristen Trampler had four each. Elijah Groh had two tackles for loss. Brighton Rodman had a fumble recovery for CMHS.

After Clinton-Massie was stopped on a fourth down play on its first drive of the game, Fenwick went 62 yards in six plays, the final 33 yards on a Jude Hooks gallop to the end zone.

The teams traded fumbles then Fenwick executed a 10-play, 53-yard scoring drive, Jordan Vann going the final yard for a 14-0 Fenwick lead in the second period.

Massie opened the second half with a nice drive, but a false start on fourth and 1 from midfield forced a punt. Russell came up with a fumble recovery two plays later.

The red, white and blue, starting at the Fenwick 22, went 22 yards in six plays, Chesser scoring from the 6. With Ean McGuinness extra point, it was 14-7 Fenwick.

Adam Frisch stopped a fourth down play for Massie. The offense moved the ball to the Fenwick 4 but were halted on a fourth and four play for just two yards. CMHS threw an interception on its next drive.
