SPRINGBORO — Clinton-Massie came up short in a battle with Springboro Tuesday at Heatherwoode Golf Club, 158 to 172.

“We played the back tees and the course played very difficult,” said CM coach Phil Larrick. “I knew playing one of the best golf programs in the state would be a challenge but I believe it will only make us better.”

Springboro, coached by 2004 Wilmington High School graduate Justin Martin, has three varsity teams. Massie played the Varsity White squad on Tuesday.

“This (loss) broke a 33-match winning streak,” said Larrick, who noted his team is 44-7 this season.

Springboro’s Carson Kaskey was match medalist with a 37.

Andy Steed led Clinton-Massie with a 40.

Logan Miller came in with 43 and Connor Stulz had a 44. Owen Goodwin followed with 45 while Cam Morgan had 55 and Evan Davidson 58.
