ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Wilmington defeated Clinton-Massie 25-12, 25-18, 25-13 Thursday in SBAAC American Division volleyball at Brian P. Mudd Court.

Wilmington goes to 13-4 overall and 5-2 in the American Division. The Falcons drop to 4-11 overall, 0-6 in league play.

The win for Wilmington is its eighth in the last nine matches. The Hurricane played without Sydney McCord and Brynn Bryant.

“This was a big win with some major lineup changes, since two of my starters are out,” WHS coach Stephanie Reveal said. “Was a little nervous coming in. It’s tough doing a new lineup with your regulars, let alone when you have girls that haven’t seen a lot of court time.”

As things turned out, though, the new lineup worked well on this night.

“They have stepped up and done a great job and, as a coach, that is more than I can ever ask for,” Reveal said. “Hoping to get everyone back next week. It’s been a challenging week and tough week with a lot of volleyball.”

Wilmington went 3-1 in the four matches Monday through Thursday.

For the Hurricane statistically, Ava Hester had two kill in the match and Aidynne Tippett had three points and five set assists. Lauren Diels had a kill, eight digs and a block. Liz Gray had two digs.
