HUBER HEIGHTS — Wilmington battled but fell to Wayne 17-25, 25-27, 23-25 in non-league volleyball Monday night.

Wilmington, 13-5 on the year, played again without Sydney McCord and Brynn Bryant.

“We just couldn’t get in a rhythm,” WHS coach Stephanie Reveal said. “Felt like we were moving in slow motion at times, but then would fight back and be right back where we needed to be. With different line ups the trust factor with each other really needs to come out … I think we struggled with that at times.”

Aidynne Tippett had six points, eight assists and eight digs. Lauren Diels finished with a kill, an assist and four digs. Layla Reynolds had three points and four digs. Kayla O’Dell finished with two points and nine digs.

Madi Schuster had six points and 15 digs while Ashley Delph had seven kills. Lisbon Smith finished with five points, six kills and 14 digs. Lexus Reiley had five kills, an assist and a team-high three blocks. Caroline Diels had six points, seven kills, 14 assists, an ace and 16 digs.
