Broncos spoil Hurricane Senior Night with 3-1 win (Updated with photos)

WILMINGTON — On Senior Night, Wilmington was defeated by Western Brown 13-25, 23-25, 25-18, 18-25 at Fred Summers Court.

Wilmington is now 13-6 overall and 5-3 in the SBAAC American Division.

Western Brown, a place ahead of WHS in the standings, is 15-5 overall, 6-2 in the American.

“Came out in a different line-up and we struggled to find a rhythm to get things started,” WHS coach Stephanie Reveal said. “Changed some things up and seemed to calm down and start playing our game.”

Reveal was happy to get Sydney McCord back in the lineup and hopes to have Brynn Bryant back soon.

Caroline Diels had 10 kills, 132 assists, 18 digs and three service points. Lexus Reiley had three kills, a dig and three blocks. Sydney McCord had four points, four kills and eight digs. Lisbon Smith finished with 14 points, four kills, two aces and 11 digs. Lauren Diels had an assist and five digs.

Ashley Delph had five kills, two digs and a team-best six blocks at the net. Madi Schuster totaled six points, two aces and a team-high 22 digs. Kayla O’Dell had a two kills, a point and 14 digs. Layla Reynolds had a point and five digs. Aidynne Tippett had nine points, eight assists and 11 digs.
