WILMINGTON — With a 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 hard-fought win, the Wilmington High School volleyball team closed its regular season with a 15-7 record.

“The girls played well,” coach Stephanie Reveal said. “The amount of growth I have seen in them this season speaks volumes. From starting the season with them adamant they couldn’t run plays on free balls, to them doing it like second nature. It’s been fun watching them step out of their comfort zone and finding the confidence in themselves.”

The win puts WHS at 6-4 in the American Division, the first winning record for WHS in SBAAC play since joining the league in 2017.

Wilmington won 14 matches last season. The last tournament win for WHS was 2018.

Against Goshen, Caroline Diels had seven points, eight kills, 12 assists, an ace, nine digs and a block. Lexus Reiley had a kill. Sydney McCord had three points, five kills, a dig and a block.

Brynn Bryant had 12 points, five kills, seven assists, four aces, 18 digs and a block. Lisbon Smith had seven points, three kills, three aces, 14 digs and a block. Ashley Delph had five kills, a dig and three blocks.

Madi Schuster had five points and 20 digs. Kayla O’Dell had five points, two aces and three digs. Layla Reynolds had three points while Ava Hester had two kills.
