WHS girls lose close one to Beavercreek

WILMINGTON — The baker games doomed the Wilmington High School girls in its match with Beavercreek Wednesday at Royal Z Lanes.

The Lady Hurricane lost a close match 2518 to 2443.

On the boys side, Wilmington had several big games but not enough as Beavercreek prevailed 3097 to 2488. Isaac Pletcher had a 439 series, with a 239 game. Austin Oglesby had a 233 game and Landon Mellinger had a 223. Anthony Perez posted a 205.

Beavercreek bowlers had individual games of 279, 265, 246, 237 and 221.

In the girls match, Wilmington trailed 1783 to 1776 after two individual games. Kylie Fisher had a 439 series for Wilmington while Lila Carter had a 412.

But Wilmington’s hopes of winning the match slipped away in the bakers. Beavercreek increased its lead in the first baker, 182 to 148. The lead continued to grow with a 193 to 160 second baker game for the Beavers.
