ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Miquela Santoro approached a triple-double Saturday in Clinton-Massie’s 71-30 win over East Clinton in South Central Ohio League girls basketball action.
Miquela Santoro led the way with 18 points, 10 steals and 7 assists as Massie improved to 10-1 overall and 6-1 in the SCOL.
Johanna Theetge added 12 points and a team-best 9 rebounds. Emilie Fisher came off the bench with 10 points.
As a team, the Lady Falcons were 18 for 22 at the free throw line. Theetge was the charity stripe pacesetter, making 6 of 6.
Santoro and Theetge got the Lady Falcons off to a fast start by combining for 15 points in the first quarter as Massie jumped out to a 20-6 lead.
The Lady Falcons doubled-up on the Lady Astros (16-8) in the second period. Fisher had 6 points in the second and Madilyn Newton scored 5 for Clinton-Massie, who led 36-14 at the halftime break.
In the third. Savannah Meyers and Santoro both scored 6 and Clinton-Massie pushed its lead to 50-21.
In the final period, Faith Cottrell had 5 points and Fisher made 4 of 4 at the free throw line.
For East Clinton, Kaitlyn Durbin and Paige Lilly had 6 points each.
East Clinton is now 1-9 overall and 0-6 in league play.
