MIDDLETOWN — East Clinton finished 8th Saturday at the Mohawk Invitational wrestling tournament at Madison High School.
Coldwater won the tournament with 231 points while Western Brown was second. Madison was third, Milton-Union fourth, Brookville fifth, Dixie sixth, Badin seventh and East Clinton.
Behind the Astros, Carlisle was ninth, Waynesville 10th, Mt. Healthy 11th, Mariemont 12th, Monroe 13th, Miami Valley Christian 14th, Twin Valley South 15th and Middletown Christian 16th.
Austin Brock led the Astros with a weight class championship at 120 pounds. Jones, a sophomore, pinned Blake Hunt of Western Brown in 5:14 in the 120 title match.
Josh Jones was third place finish at 106 pounds, winning by forfeit in his final match. Noah Morgan was third at 152 pounds. The EC junior was a 10-4 winner in the consolation match of Riley Gullino of Mariemont. Cameron Bloch was third at 170 pounds after edging Gunnar Dawson of Madison 6-4 in the consolation match.
Thomas Wright was 4th at 145 pounds, falling to Braden Rauch of Carlisle by pin in 1:35 in the consolation match.
Darrel Perry, a sophomore, was 6th at 195 pounds.
Kalob Williams was 8th at 132 pounds. He lost his 7th place match to Travis Argenti of Badin 19-6. Charles Erdman was 8th at 160 pounds, losing by 7-3 decision to Kerwin Heard of Mt. Healthy in the 7th place match. Robert Norman finished 8th at 182 pounds, losing to Chance Chapman of Milton-Union 13-6 in the 7th place match.
