Heidelberg downs Wilmington in OAC lacrosse 16-6

WILMINGTON – The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team couldn’t overcome a 9-0 halftime deficit in a 16-6 loss to Heidelberg University in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Townsend Field Saturday afternoon.

Wilmington is 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the OAC. Heidelberger is 5-5 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

The Quakers will play at Otterbein Wednesday night.

Mike Smith twice and Connor Judge scored in the third period for Wilmington to make it 12-3. Judge and Zach Chucta twice scored in the fourth period for Wilmington.

The Student Princes held a 58-25 edge in shots as well as winning two-thirds (16-of-24) faceoffs.

Individually, Smith, Chucta and Judge all netted two goals for Wilmington while Eric Wathen grabbed a squad-best five ground balls.
