BLANCHESTER – With its pitchers issuing 20 bases on balls, the Blanchester baseball team was defeated by Clermont Northeastern 19-1 Monday in SBAAC National Division play.

“We aren’t going to beat anyone with 20 walks,” BHS coach Aaron Lawson said. “Our pitchers need to quit giving hitters so much credit. There top five were 4-for-14. Even the better hitters will get themselves out. We can’t defend walks and when pitchers are constantly behind in the count the hitter knows a fastball is coming.”

The Wildcats are 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the National Division.

The Rockets are 2-1 overall, 2-0 in the conference.

Cole Ficke drove in the only BHS run. Dustin Howard and Jacksson Waialae had hits. Waialae scored the lone BHS run.
