WC men, women both sixth at Centre Twilight Meet

DANVILLE, Ky. -Both the Wilmington College men’s and women’s track and field teams finished sixth Friday at the Centre Twilight Meet.

For the women, Kayli Sullivan was fourth in the hammer throw (132-2) and the shot put (37-8). She was seventh in the discus (107-9). Morgan Loomis was sixth in the javelin (102-0).

Keva Cox cleared 4-9 and Tiffany Snider 4-7 in the high jump.

Emma Burke was fourth in the 400-meter dash (61.18) and sixth in the 200 (23.02). Brooke Gibbons was sixth in the 1,500-meters (5:09.15).

The 4×100-meter relay team of Miranda Gibson, Amber LaRotonda, Abby Spirk and Cox ran 55.22 and finished fourth. The 4×400 teams of Kelly Rice, Kayci Johnson, Gibbons, Katie Hughes clocked a 4:44.08 and placed sixth.

On the men’s side, Joe Shuga was fourth in the shot put (43-10.75) and discus (136-11), and seventh in the hammer throw (146-9).

Colin Myers was third in the high jump (6-0) and long jump (21-5.75) then ran fifth in the 200-meter dash (23.02). Elliot Phillimore was eighth in the 200 (23.22).

Evan Whitaker was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:13.78) while Taton Bertsch scored in the 800 (2:00.02). Bertsch, Whitaker, Josh Cyrus and Sam Foote were eighth in the 4×400 (3:42.02).
