MARIETTA – Marietta College came back from a four-run deficit in game one and batted around in consecutive innings in game two to sweep the Wilmington College baseball team 8-7 and 16-5 in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at Don Schaly Stadium.

A two-run triple by Nick Silvis in game one got the WC offense started. Joe Legin drove in a run as did Gage Bley and Silvis again as Wilmington went up 5-1 in the fourth.

Jared Farenchak pitched into the seventh and led 7-5 but the bullpen was unable to hold the lead. Lance Fleischman took the loss.

Bley finished with four hits and two runs batted in while Silvis had three hits and three RBI. Legin and Jake Hyatt had two hits each.

In the second game, Bley doubled him a run and Silvis knocked in two as the Quakers scored first. But Marietta took control with big innings in the fifth and sixth.

Jacob Griewahn took the loss for WC.

Bley had three hits, scored twice and knocked in a run. Silvis and Joe Allinder had two hits each.

Wilmington (6-21, 2-8 OAC) hosts Capital University for a pair of OAC games Tuesday.
