Flannery nets 7 but WC lacrosse falls 20-15

MARIETTA – Clinton-Massie graduate Jadon Flannery had seven goals but Wilmington College’s men’s lacrosse team was defeated by Marietta College 20-15 Saturday in the season finale.

Wilmington, 2-14 overall and 0-9 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, trailed 5-1 early and 13-5 at the half. Led by Flannery, WC outscored MC 10-7 in the second half.

Connor Judge and Andrew Miller both scored three goals while Miller added an assist.

The Quakers improved in all other stats compared to their season average, winning 30 ground balls and shooting over 30 times for the game. Marietta won 29-of-38 face-offs and grabbed 52 ground balls.
