BETHEL – Backed by a strong defense, Dustin Howard pitched Blanchester to a 6-1 baseball win over Bethel-Tate Monday in SBAAC National Division play.

The Wildcats go to 10-9 overall and 8-4 in the division.

“Howard worked east and west, keeping the ball down,” BHS coach Aaron Lawson said. “He located his breaking ball and kept Bethel off balance.”

Blanchester played error-free ball on defense.

“We made the routine plays and the outfield took away a couple of nicely hit balls in the gap,” said Lawson.

Brody Rice had a double and run batted in. Regan Burch had two hits, with a double. Cole Ficke had a double and RBI.
