READING – Taylor Boeckmann ended Monday’s Division III sectional softball victory for East Clinton with a diving catch and double play as the Lady Astros defeated Reading 8-3.

The win puts East Clinton into the second round against No. 3 seed Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. EC will play at CHCA 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Boeckmann, who had two hits, made a diving catch at shortstop then threw from her knees to double-up the running going back to first base to end the game.

Mackenzie Campbell struck out eight in the circle for EC.
