Hurricane rallies to beat Owls 11-1

WILMINGTON – After spotting Mt. Healthy a first-inning run, the Wilmington High School baseball team rolled to an 11-1 six inning win in a Division II Cincinnati Sectional game Tuesday at the WHS diamond.

“We started slow but finished strong,” WHS head coach Brian Roberts said.

The Hurricane, 4-15 on the season, will play at No. 2 seed Ross 5 p.m. Thursday in the second round.

Jake Vaughan had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the WHS offense.

Jeff Spears and Matt Spears had two hits each. Jordan Macik collected two hits and Brock Rappach had a hit and drove in two teammates. Ethan Henson also had a hit for the Hurricane.
